The moment before the gravity of the situation registers on this player's face.
In moments like we're seeing here, I'm really glad I'm not on the field. That elbow pad is just a bit too short to protect from that check. 😬
Seeing everybody's face reacting differently adds to the drama of a good sports photograph: grimaces, clenched teeth, surprise, and even closed eyes help paint the picture of how it was to actually be there.

Their job is to hustle for the loose ball. My job is to make sure I capture their efforts in images like these.
Night games in the early spring can provide some cool visuals while at the same time being tricky to shoot in due to the poor lighting. I love the challenge of making players look good in difficult conditions.
You’re gonna have to work for it.
Senior portraits are personal. 🎓📸 I’m grateful when students trust me with that process, and even more grateful when the experience delivers results they’re excited about.
